malfunction indicator light will not go off
Hi, i just bought a 2005 liberty limited edition 3.7 liter engine. when ever the tank gets to 1/4 the malfunction indicator light comes on,if i top it off most of the time it goes off. i bought a new gas cap, toped it off when it got to 1/4 it came on again but will not shut off, the manual said to reset trip meter take off cap then put it back on nothing. Does not seem to effect the running of the jeep. Please help! thanks.

DO you meean the check engine light? If so, what code(s)? You can get the codes by turning the key from the off to on (not start) position three times (off/on/off/onoff/leave on) and they will display in the odometer. Should get codes like P0445...
