I'm new here and to jeeps in general. I've been wanting to lift my 06 KJ. What would be the best 1-2" lift kit for the price and quality?

OME.
With no other addons will get you around 1.5" lift. Rides better than stock.

Jeepinbyal sells the springs, shocks, and struts.
I'd replace all of them if they are all still original. We went with the OME shocks and struts, some guys use other brands and pair them with the OME springs.

The other popular combination is OME springs and Bilstein shocks. Slightly cheaper than OME/OME and pretty much the same ride.

You never really need new tires, but the basic point of a lift is to give you more ground clearance. The lowest point on your vehicle is the differentials, and the only way to raise those is by getting larger tires.
Plus small tires look a little funny.
It's really up to you though.

Generally, 245-75-16 is about where you want to be with a 2.5" OME lift on a KJ.

245-75-16 is certainly the most popular, any larger and you'll notice a power drop off large enough to justify/require regearing and you'll probably need to make modifications to your wheel wells, beyond just pounding the pinch weld

I guess the bigger question would be -- how do you plan on using the KJ?
If you install fogs or not is just a personal preference. I doubt anyone will think a KJ is looking anything like a YJ TJ or JK. JMPO
