Is the Liberty a "real" offroad vehicle

I am a non-Jeep owner, never owned or driven any Jeep. I am wondering if the new Liberty is a real offroad vehicle. I am not talking about tackling the Rubicon Trail, but I guess I am asking if its going to break if I take it over rough ground like pasture land, corn fields, dirt roads with wash-outs and tire ruts, etc. I am just curious if I would be kidding myself if I thought this was an offroad vehicle.

I bought my libby 4 months ago and took it out in a very serious trail (hills, mud, rocks). I was surprised that it held up, for a vehicle built for urban off-road. It's not as serious as the TJ and XJ for off-road enthusiast. Check out www.rockcrawler.com for more info.
