Liberty 2003 Brakes

I am by no means a mechanic. But I do hear a weird sound when I move the shifter from Park to either reverse or drive. It sounds like the brake pads are rubbing against the rotors even my when foot isnt on the pedal. Im used to the old Wrangler's rear drums, and my new liberty has 4 disc brakes so I dont know if this is just something that occurs with rear discs. Could my brakes always rub the rotors? I never use my E-brake, so I highly doubt it is that.
Could this be normal?
