KK Oil Change

I have an 09 Liberty without the EVIC computer. Will my display in the dash tell me when to change the oil or is that strictly an EVIC feature? Thanks for helping this Jeep noob.

Does it go by mileage or driving habits? I waited until 4,000 miles until I got impatient and went ahead and got it changed. In the future should I just wait for it to tell me? Is there a way I can check the current status of the oil? Thanks for your help.

According to the manual, the oil change light is duty cycle meaning it goes by your driving habits, and condition of the oil.It would be a good idea to change it around 2-3k on the first oil change.Mine comes on around the 2500 mark, but is does vary.If your using conventional oil,I would change it every 3k,if using synthetic, you could go 6k.

So I just had my oil changed 1500 miles ago and now the indicator just lit up. Is this most likely because it was not reset at the oil change or because my driving habits have worn the oil out at 1500 miles? how can I reset the indicator myself?

If I remember correctly it is something like this:

Turn ignition on with engine off, press gas pedal to the floor three times quickly. Cycle key off and on. Reminder should be reset.

If I'm remembering incorrectly, will somebody please chime in.
