Here's what I would like to see in an KJ FAQ sticky thread. These questions are asked about once every other week.
What is the difference between lowered and prelowered? What lifts are available for the KJ? What is the largest tire size that will fit without rubbing (with and without a lift)? What changes have occurred between the 2002 and (present year model) KJs?

I have no idea on all of the changes for the KJs from '02 - '05. I'm still learning about all the TJ changes and working on that FAQ as well. Thanks for the help! ![]() Oh, I also tossed in some traction device info as well.

Your missing the following available lift kits:
All J Products Frakenlift 2.5" lift kit: http://www.boulderbars.com You have to ask for it. It's not listed on the web site. BDS Suspensions - 2" front/1.5" rear lift kit: http://www.bds-suspension.com Revtek spacer 2" lift kit: http://www.revtek.com Skyjacker Platinum Coil Over 2.5" lift kit (LIB250K): http://www.skyjacker.com Skyjacker spacer 2.5" lift kit (KJ25): http://www.skyjacker.com Teraflex spacer 2" lift kit Additionally, a couple companies are developing large lift kits: RockKrawler 7-up long arm lift kit: http://www.rockkrawler.com/ A picture of a 7-up equipped KJ is currently on the front page. Superlift 4.5" lift kit: http://www.superlift.com This lift is not listed on their site either. It is probably still in development.

Some more detailed information on the difference between lowered and prelowered...
All KJs produced prior to April 2002 are considered "prelowered". All KJs produced from April 2002 on are considered "lowered". Autoweek magazine rolled a 2WD KJ in a slalom test so fearing the potential fallout DC started lowering all KJs 22mm (0.87") in the front and 19mm (0.75") in the rear. There were several different front suspension set ups used throughout the earlier years so there may be several different heights for 2002s and 2003s. Some information on model changes... http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f28/2003-vs-2002-kj-99580/?highlight=lowered

I'll read that link when I get back from work tonight.... Did the 4WD one pass because it was a heavier vehicle than the 2WD---- or because the driver engaged 4-HI in the 2nd test?

Heres a site I found for KJ parts. They have plenty of other Off-Road parts, but they have a nice list of KJ stuff. And their products seem ok from I gather. Well here it is Rock Road Outfitters Not sure if it's been mentioned before. If anyone knows anything bad about them let it out.

Additions to the FAQ
Also worth adding, is that the 2005 CRD - despite what the "specs" say - comes with the 16inch ("Mechanica" - optional on Liberty Sport models) wheels and 225/75/R16 tires....
And that the 2005 models have a new plastic kick plate. And possibly that the Renegade models have different hoods and front grills... (flatter hoods, bigger grills with no fog lights, as they are on the bumper (and a slightly different bumper as well))
