Jordan Ultima 2020 brake controller?

Does anyone have any experience with this brake controller? Many posts in the RV related forums speak very highly of this controller. It uses a cable connected to the brake pedal to activate the electric brakes. I especially like the fact there is no need to tap into any other of the trailer wiring other than the brake controller line.

On a related note, I've noticed that the Liberty fuse panel has a 20 amp circuit wired to the brake pin on the factory installed hitch. i haven't installed a controller yet and this pin is wired hot. When I plugged in the connector this locked the brakes. This caused a bit of head scratching till I pulled the breaker.

I used one for years and loved it but...you have to have a direct line to the brake pedal or the cable will kink. When it works it's great and I wish I could of got it figured out and working correctly but it was hit and miss. I pulled it out of my truck and replaced it with a Prodigy controller which I think is almost as good as the Jordan and you don't have to mess with it. The price is about the same for both and Jordan is exceptional with repairs to them if needed. But the Prodigy is plug and play. You hook up, set a base and go. You have the albilty to ramp it up for heavier loads without having to reset it by just pushinig a button.

Don't know if I confused you more or not but after having both I'd go with the Prodigy. Now to confuse you evern more... Check out the Brake Smart controller. You'd better start saving for it...
Good Luck
Ron
