Jeep Liberty Tent

There have been some adds in our local (Dayton, Ohio) newspaper over the last week or so where Jeep dealers are advertising free camping tents with the purchase or lease of a Jeep Liberty. I bought mine in April, and didn't get a tent. Oh well - sucks to be me, right? The point of the question is this: one of the ads showed a picture of a tent that seemed to have a portion of it shaped like the back end of the Liberty, and the tent actually fit around the Liberty and was fastened (somehow?) to it. Does anyone know if there really is such a camping tent custom made for the Jeep Liberty? If so, where can I find more info on purchasing one?

Is it anything like the tent for the Pontiak Aztek? I am not sure I have seen what you mean.

I think he/she means that the tent connects to the back of the Libby (not sure if you leave the tailgate open) so that the tent actually extends into the back of the Libby. Maybe? <img src="http://www.stopstart.fsnet.co.uk/smilie/conf.gif" alt="" />

Did you ask the people at the dealership? They might have bought them from an aftermarket vendor because I doubt that DC would make tents. HTH

The picture in the paper looks like it hooks onto the back of the Liberty. I saw a Jeep commercial yesterday while watching a re-run of Everybody Loves Raymond that advertised the tent as an incentive. I'm not sure if it was a DC commercial or a locally produced one. The tent they showed had the Liberty grill logo and the word "Jeep" on it. I haven't tried the dealers yet - I was hoping to find it commercially so I don't have to pay dealer markup, but I can't find them anywhere. I hoping someone buys a Liberty in the next few days/weeks and actually gets a tent to tell us more about if they're any good or not, and what brand is on the tag.

I just bought a new Liberty. The dealer called me and said you are also going to receive a free Jepp Camping Tent. I said sure, she said they had one set up at the dealership, so I went over there to see it. I was AMAZED, it is huge. The tesnt has two external frames, it is actually a two room tent. The first is a huge screened in area with floor that can seat 6-8 people. Then you move into the second room that attaches to the back of the Liberty with an elastic band type connection. The gate and window are up. I was shocked. Really nice quality. The dealer told me that this incentive was for a 30 day period. I waited 3 months for my KJ, it was worth the wait.

If anyone can post a picture or give me a web site to view the tent, PLEASE let me know. This just might convince my wife to buy a Liberty!

She loves the Aztec with the tent, but I can't stomach it and said "no way!"

Good God, don't get an Aztec! Those things are hideous!

Hey, NewKJ: Can you do me a favor and tell us what brand of tent it is? Perhaps the manufacturer will sell it directly?

Got a call from my Jeep dealer that my tent is ready to pick up tomorrow. I have seen it set up at the dealer. Not bad for free! Thanks Jeep!

Today I picked up the tent from the Jeep dealer. She said that they will be a MOPAR acessory sometime after August.....listing at arount $300.00. Timing is everything, I think the tent promotion is still avilable with the purchase of a Liberty, and yes they are BIG, it actually has two separate rooms, complete with floor, external frames and a great connection to the back of the Liberty.

the tent is pretty tight. i havnt opened mine yet but i saw the one in the store store. Its pretty big.. like a small apartment almost. Accuatly suprised me too. Not at all like the small one for the azteck or whatever. huge!! it has a part where you are open to the outside...like netted...then there is a part up closer to your truck where you wouldnt get rained on if it was raining you could still be in the tent and not get wet.... nice nice

I called my dealer and asked if the tent is retroactive if we purchased our Liberty in April. After he stopped laughing . . . they told me they could order me one for $350. Yet again, sucks to me, doesn't it. Oh well. Glad you guys are enjoying it. It does look like quite a deal!
