I don't know if this is a problem?

I have a 2003 Liberty Renegade with 102K on it. I noticed what might be a problem in the last week that may have been there for a while, and I just never noticed before. Sometimes when I come to a stop and when I take off from a stop I feel a slight slip in what feels like the rear end. The truck shifts just fine and is not making any noises at all. The truck has been well maintained. Like I stated earlier it might have been doing this forever. Does anyone have any ideas what this might be or where to look first. Any help would be appreciated.

Might be a little driveline slack. It is normal.

Would you be talking about the "clunk" you hear/feel when you first put tranny into
drive or (like my stick shift) shift from first to second? I know it's free play within the
rear diff. Is there anything that can be done (adjustment) about it?

No it's not a clunk at least not yet. It dose not seem to make any noise, but it's just a little something I feel. It seem to do it a little more after it is warmed up. Thanks guys.

I believe it's wear in the t-case chain causing slack in the drivetrain.Just my 2 cents.

Sounds like dt slack (as others have mentioned). Totally normal for 102,000 miles.
