I don't know if this is a problem?
I have a 2003 Liberty Renegade with 102K on it. I noticed what might be a problem in the last week that may have been there for a while, and I just never noticed before. Sometimes when I come to a stop and when I take off from a stop I feel a slight slip in what feels like the rear end. The truck shifts just fine and is not making any noises at all. The truck has been well maintained. Like I stated earlier it might have been doing this forever. Does anyone have any ideas what this might be or where to look first. Any help would be appreciated.

Would you be talking about the "clunk" you hear/feel when you first put tranny into
drive or (like my stick shift) shift from first to second? I know it's free play within the rear diff. Is there anything that can be done (adjustment) about it? |

No it's not a clunk at least not yet. It dose not seem to make any noise, but it's just a little something I feel. It seem to do it a little more after it is warmed up. Thanks guys. |

I believe it's wear in the t-case chain causing slack in the drivetrain.Just my 2 cents.

Sounds like dt slack (as others have mentioned). Totally normal for 102,000 miles.
