We have 19K+ on our `05 CRD now. Daily driving yields a steady 26mpg now, mixed interstate and city driving, as well as country roads. The EGR valve was replaced under warranty of course, but otherwise it is basically flawless; a real fine vehicle.

At what mileage did you hit 26? I'm still at 23.5 at 7500 mi.

About where you are I hit 24-25 mpg on daily driving. My wife often drives it to work and she gets even better mileage. She drives faster than i do but takes off slower and more carefully. Her daily drive is about half interstate and four lane highway with few stops. Only about a half mile is actual city driving, the last few blocks off the interstate with a few lights. She steadily gets 26.5 or so. I put a K&N air filter in it about 10K miles too, and that helps. Just the regular replacement style K&N that is. I fuel it up for her, she can make five rounds to work and back and have fuel left over, her job is 50+ miles one way, across a large city twice each day. I have a sport and use the odometer and a calculater so i know this mileage is correct. I guess in all fairness it seems to be better with different fuels too. Some smoke and don't return mileage as well as others.

My 05 CRD has 10,500 and no problems so far except the speedo went out at 500 miles, fixed under warranty. Stll have the original ERG valve, and holding my breath.
Just changed my first flat tire this morning (with clients in the car) wasn't too much of a problem. getting all round average mpg of 24/25 with mixed driving.

My Town & Country finally arrived and I just traded my CRD in today.. She had 12,300 miles on the clock and fetched a decent trade in price of $17K.

not too many yet

I just parked mine today with a whopping 188mi. on the ticker, but I just bought it yesterday. It was a hard thing to do trading in my '98 2500 cummins (my 5th. cummins Dodge since '89). I am very impressed with this little 4 popper so far, but as usual they have things crammed in so they are a @$!%^ to work on. Thinking about ordering the $95 service manual on cd, anyone get one of these yet? Glad to be on board, looks like this a good forum to pick up advice like the TDR site is. Good luck with your CRD's. gary

P.S. first tank went 22.6mpg combined driving.

With 13,000 I consistently get 23 mpg, and can get it as high as the 26s if I stay out of it. Everything stock but the PowerService cetane I add, about 4oz/15 gal.

Love it, no serious problems. I do get the occassional brake shoe grab on startup and a shudder at 52 mph (I used attribute this to the trans hunting for the right gear, but I am paying some attention thanks to the trans threads). Oh yeah, and there was the poor lady I hit leaving a red light when everyone stopped and I didn't (about 15 mph at contact, I estimate).... Nothing like some body work when your under 1000 miles!
