How do I shift from part time to full time?

I've tried it like the manual says while stationary and it just won't work, stays on part time.
It's an 04 don't think it has select trak or anything fancy.
Thanks again

Does your transfer case shifter lever have "Full Time" written on it anywhere? Your Liberty had to have come with the Select Trac t-case in order to have the full-time 4WD. Otherwise, you've got the Command Trac t-case, which only has part-time 4WD.

The 4-WD stuff is confusing. My '03 Liberty had the shifter where part way up was part time 4-WD and the next position up was 4-WD. I expected the '08 to be the same but it is only regular drive or 4-WD. I really liked the option in the '03. Is it still avail like that?

Command-trac and Select-trac are no longer available on the Liberty.

It is now Command-trac II and Select-trac II for the 2008's. These are console mounted.

Here is a wiki article from a year ago...this shows all of the 4wd systems through 2007.
