I don't have remote start.. and i usualy only start it a few mins before i have to go to anywhere.. I keep my jeep pluged in.. (we get -40) weather here.. Anyways.. let me know!!!

Gas
All gas powered vehicles use more gas in the cold weather, because it takes longer for the engine to reach operating temperature. The short scientific version is that the cold air is denser and carries more O2 that leans out the mix, so more gas has to be fed in to compensate, until the engine warms up. Also your Lib probably has a relatively small gas tank for a vehicle its size (18 gallons), hence more gas ups, and a more obvious drop accordingly on the gas gauge. I myself went from a 96 Cherokee straight 6 auto, to the 03 Lib w/a v6 auto, and have the same issues as you. They are not good on gas, period. In fact they are terrible winter and summer IMHO.

4wd uses more gas than 2wd but I havn't noticed a difference between 4wd modes. When it is COLD I usually average 12-15 mpg in the city. Yesterday was -40C here in Winnipeg. My power steering fluid was freezing up on the highway as I was driving...

Your milage will vary
If I keep the RPM's between 1800-2200 I can get low 20's MPG I have gotten as much as 379 Miles on a tank but that was all highway.

I got 32-34 mpg this summer. But that was 25 C, 90 km/h, and six hours of the straitest flattest highway you have ever seen.

I knew I should have taken a picture
It was around 7-8L/100km on the highway and my average consumption was around 10L/100km. I got 650 km on that tank.

A Jeep, getting over 30 miles per gallon?? If Toyota gets word of this, they'll file for bankrupcy right now. Do you have any mods on your Jeep?--- I drove up to Salisbury straight up route 50 averagine 60-65mph, no braking, and I was a hair under 22mpg.

Time for a new calculator????
Not to poke any holes in your numbers but..............
by my calculation you only got 20.8 mpg on that trip.
There are 1.6 km's for every mile.
So if you put on 650 km's then you did approx. 406 miles.
Based on the spec sheet on my '04, the tank size is 19.5 gallons (I do not believe they were any bigger in '02)
Therefore assuming you were running on fumes when you filled up, you would have got roughly 20.8 mpg. Now if your Liberty is the same as mine, I usually have around 5 to 5 1/2 gallons of gas left when the fuel light comes on.
So even if you take the max distance with the smallest amount of fuel left the best you could have achieved is 27 mpg (406 miles / 15 gal)
I take my Liberty on many short trips (1500 to 1600 km's round trip) 5 to 8 times a year. My parents home (Thunder Bay) is 730 km's from my door (Winnipeg). Last summer I filled up in Prawda (100 km's) from my door and my fuel light came on after 600 km's. I was 30 km's from Thunder Bay when I filled up and I still had roughly 4 gal left in the tank. I easily could have made it to their home (only another 30 km's) but I chose to fill up to check the mileage. The best I have ever gotten is approx. 25 mpg. (with a tailwind the entire way!).
Anyhow.........right now it is -18 here and raining (if you can believe that!), so I am off to see if I can still get into my Liberty!
Later

65 Liters/650 km = 10L/100 km as I said, that was my average. I left the EVIC on the current fuel economy screen, it bounced between 7-8 while I was on the highway at 90 km/h. I was stuck behind RV's and campers most of the way.
edit: My tank is 70L/18.5 Gallon

I have a K&N re-usable filter, a Tornado (actually DOES help slightly when you get to open it up on the highway) 5W-30 Valvoline Synthetic Motor Oil. So are you saying that you get almost 10mpg better than me on the open highway because of Bosch Platinum Spark Plugs?
Not only that, but I was under the impression that copper (the standard Jeep spark plugs) were better conductors of electricity than platinum. I thought platinum's only advantage was longevity. Theres no way platinum makes a better spark in the combustion chamber than copper does, how do we figure the drastic gap between my 22mpg MAX on the open highway, and you getting Toyota Corrola numbers??
