front hitch and winch mount

OK, so I've looked at all the winch bumpers and just don't like how they look. They're cool but its just a little much for the way I want my jeep to look.
But... I really want a winch, I found a winch mounting plate that slides into a hitch receiver but I only have a receiver in the back. Which seems a little impractical.
Further research yielded finding a front hitch received for kj's. I feel this is the way to go so I can winch from either the front or the back without winch bumpers.
Does anybody know how hard they are to install and can anybody think of a reason for me to not do this?
The front received is about $250 and the mounting plate is another $50. Plus whatever I spend on the winch itself...

Nice! I'm still very much in the R&D stage but that's some tasty food for thought

Gyro
That mounting system looks nice but it does not appear to be a hitch system that could be removed from the front and placed in the rear which is what I believe the OP is looking for. I've been searching for one but haven't had much luck

with a receiver up front you are putting a lot of stress on one small point
if pulling stright ahead thats fine, but off to the side not so good
Detours has a good solid mounting system , good way to go

X2..................

Remember by using a hitch mounted winch you are limited to the load rating of the hitch which is generally 3500lbs-5000lbs.A stuck KJ(in mud) requires much more then 5000lbs of pulling force. Those types of winch mounts are the worst you can use and by far the unsafest.

See? I knew I asked these questions for a reason! Thanks guys, backbone it is. Any specifics to look for in selecting a winch.

You want one with a pull 1.5 times the weight of the vehicle and a stock gas KJ with 4wd is about 4000lbs.

Personally I'd skip those cheap winches,if the winch mount costs more then the winch there is a huge quality issue there.Warn's M8000 is a great winch.

The Matrix bar has a receiver as well. I thought about putting one on my wife's KJ so it would match my WK.
