Engine swap?

Hey guys. I'm new on here and this is my first post. I kinda feel out of place on a jeep forum because I've got an 05 liberty with a 2.4L 4 cyl with a 6 speed standard transmission. It was actually a gift from my parents when I graduated high school. Needless to say, I definitely want to make it more capable. Nothing huge. Mainly just some light off roading and making it feel more like a jeep. About how much would it cost to put a 3.7L v6 in it? I admittedly don't know a whole lot about mechanics in general. I can tell you pretty much how everything works but can't tell you much else. Any ideas to get me started? Would it be a better idea just to buy a new kj? I'm open to any suggestions. I've read a lot of threads before I posted this and you guys really seem to have quite a lot of knowledge. As I said, I am open and appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

Trade in 2.4 gas KJ for 3.7 V6 KJ,simplest and most cost effective.

Thanks. I figured that would be the case. Just wanted to ask around before I made any decisions.
