CRD Owners

Is anyone not having trouble with their CRD? I have had no trouble with mine. I have only had the recalls done which is no big deal. I read, however, about people who are always having to have service work done. I am hesitant to keep this vehicle even though trading it will cost me a great deal of money.

I am not having any problems with my 2005 CRD. I have had the recalls done, and other than that, only oil changes. I have almost 15,000 miles on it and it runs perfect.

If you are not having any problems why are you hesitant about keeping it?

I'm not. Some folks are more tollerant to basically anything than others. Some want a get in and start it and don't think about nothing else kind of car. Some have had issues, but that goes with ANY make or model. The majority of them are just fine. Don't be worried or fooled.

I have had ZERO issues with the XJ, and at 140K miles, that's pretty good.

Yea, that's remarkable. Now if they could only get that kind of longevity out of the space shuttle.

No trouble. No F37 reflash/tc recall. Will not allow DC to castrate the Princess's 05.
Runs like a dream...

Oh, that's funny! I did have the F37 recall done, and have noticed no drop in power at all. It does run and shift a lot smoother after the recall though. Of course, I don't do any towing, so some others may have noticed a difference.

The reflash in minimal if you can even tell. That is what I have heard form other F37ers. Some folks talk themselves into being mad.

My dealer swapped the torque converter, but didn't do the flash. Oh, they may say they did, but I have my ways of knowing, and they didn't.

Only problem I have had with my CRD is the transmission pan filter came off within a few days after having the TC recall done.

Other than that, the CRD has been a really good ride. Great addition to our farm. It can sure round up cattle in some really nasty conditions! Great for pulling the 300 gallon fuel wagon around. And boy, it sure goes thru the snow.

All I have done is normal maintenance. No addons.

No problems here. Get a few hot heads and naysayers when a rig first comes out and all the sudden it's junk. No one wants to hear that this isn't the only rig in existence that had recalls or problems. Lord knows each one of those people that had an original issue and later had it resolved all jumped right back on the soapbox to exalt the virtues of their wonderful rigs.

My 06 is past the 36k warranty period. It has been so trouble free that I have
complete confidence and have not bought an extended warranty. Here's hoping
that the good relationship continues.

Don't have to worry about your CRD going out of warranty at 36K miles if this press release from DC correct. At least a lawyer could have fun with it!

http://wwwsg.daimlerchrysler.com/SD7...0-0-0,00.html#

Read on down thru it and you will find DC extending the warranty on the '06 Liberty CRD to 5yr/100K miles. I think they would have a sticky time with the FTC and lawyers since it is an official press release.
