backspacing and tire size help needed

3" lift 02 renegade on 30" mt's. plan on going 32" if possible and wanted to know what backspacing is suggested. i ran 4" on my WJ, but don't know what to run on the KJ. thanks in advance!

Plan on regearing to 4.10's with 32" tires.

Besides that you will need more then 3.5" of lift for 32" tires and still be useable offroad. With that all said a 7" wide rim with 4"-4.5" of back spacing is the only way to go with that tire size.

Been there and done all that and learned,7" wide with 4"-4.5" of back spacing.

So basically keep the 30" that are on there and put em on a 4" Backspaced rim

Seems like thats what I said before somewhere else ;)

;) what about 3.5" backspace? will that hurt anything as far as flexing/rubbing? any specific material/brand/model you suggest? going to order today. thanks!

Will rub like crazy even after you break out the sawsall and BFH.

This showing the front tires, even with the pic showing the tires straight just imagine them sticking out 1" further out, they'd rub like crazy. The wheels are 16x7 with 4.5" of BS with 265/75R16(31.9" tall) tires and 3.75" of lift and proper front extended bumpstops at full stuff.

Full rear stuff with same rims and same sized tires and only slight rub on the very fronts of the wheel wells,no way to get around that without pushing the axle back 1/4"-1/2" so it's centered in the wheel well.

And of course no rubbing at all with 35" tires with 9" of lift, properly bumpstopped, with 35x12.50x15's on 15x8 rims with 4" of backspacing but this is a whole different story compared to a IFS KJ.

Gotcha. My buddy is a manager at 4wheel parts and said they e been.putting 16x7 with 4.5 Backspacing with no rubbing problems on 2.5" lift. Supposed to go talk to dude today about a set of those rims

Wow someone at a 4 wheel parts that actually might know what they are talking about.
Most of those guys only know Wranglers and Dodge Diesels, start talking about other models and they get a deer in the headlight look

You should have seen the looks on there faces when I pulled up in my KJ after the SFA swap/Most didn't even now what a Liberty was. They just mainly do "bro trucks" anymore these days.

lol. ours is managed by 2 guys in our local jeep club. my WJ was on TV last year when they did the spot at the 4wparts truck and 4x4 show. i made sure they knew what it was after i crawled up on their 37's. news anchor ate it up. but yeah, they're really only good for bolt-on. but we get a really good discount.
