Air Condition Compressor
Hi, I have a 2003 Jeep Liberty and I am on a 12 hour road trip. I made it to my destination, barely. I just need to drive back for work.

Question: My AC Compressor started smoking and sounds like a bearing went out. I noticed when I turn the AC on this helps the smoking. I dont think I should drive it back without getting the problem fixed. do I have to buy the whole compressor or just the clutch?

It looks like you can replace just the clutch but you may need to rent some specialty tools. This is for a 2002 but should be the same. Start on page 12.
