Added EVIC to '06 KJ. TPMS questions...

I added an EVIC to my '06 KJ Sport. Works like a champ.
When I start up, I get a warning on the EVIC that tire pressure sensors are missing or not operating. Hitting the C/T button gets rid of the warning so no problem. I'm assuming that my KJ doesn't have the TPMS sensors in the rims since it was before they were mandated and I didn't have the EVIC. I want to add TPMS when I buy new tires (still a ways down the road), but I recall seeing something about not all Jeeps having the "antennas" installed near the tires to pick up the TPMS sensors. Is this true? How do I check? Before I drop a couple of hundred bucks for the sensors, I need to know if they'll even be read.

Thanks!

What is the part number on the EVIC ?

I have the 56010438ac, which displays TPMS (and gives me an error since it's not finding the sensors). My main concern is whether my Liberty has the parts installed to receive the sensor signals if I were to get sensors. Since my Liberty didn't come with the EVIC, I'm not sure...

I doubt you have them because of the expense. I think your next step is to go to the dealer and ask them for your vehicle's "build sheet". They may not want to give it up. All it is, is a sheet telling all of the various components that went into the construction of your vehicle. It's handy to have.

Thanks, Dennis.

I suggest you just ignore the error and don't bother getting the TPMS sensors.

I don't recall the model year but the TPMS system changed from one type of sensor to another. So unless you match your EVIC to your model year and then to the type of radio pickup you'll just throw a lot of money at them.

I have an EVIC that also displays the TPMS error. I just click the Compass/Temp button and start driving.

Uh, I don't mind the error message, but would like to get the correct sensors to match my Jeep, hence my original question. Getting the correct tire sensors isn't all that difficult, really.
I'd like to have the full usability of the EVIC, which is why I've gone to so much trouble to get one and install it.
Thanks anyway.
