4X4 Insignia

Hello Jeepers,
I've noticed some Libbys have the 4x4 insignia on either side on the rear upper panels and I've noticed that some Libbys are absent of the two insigna but instead have it just below the Jeep tag on the lower left tailgate. What's up with that? Also, what's up with the on again off again spare wheel cover. At first it was offered from the DC standard, it was prominent in the brochures. Then it went away, now it appears as standard equipment on the LTD's. Your thoughts?

Some Liberty's are 2 wheel drive only.

I looked at a 4x4 limited (loaded) the other day, but the dealer told me the wheel cover was extra.....hmmmmm

I kept the sticker for my Liberty Limited, and under EXTERIOR FEATURES (before the OPTIONAL EQUIPTMENT), it lists:
Tires - P235/70R16 BSW All Season
Spare Tire - Full Size
Spare Tire Cover

Seems to me the tire cover is standard. At least, it was for me. I also have the Consumer Reports New Car Price Report, but it doesn't list the tire cover. I can't remember if Jeep.com lists the tire cover as optional or not. (The build date of my Limited was 2/02 - don't know if the date it came off the line would make a difference.)

I've also seen some Liberties that had the spare tire cover replaced (if it was ever there) by a tire cover with the dealer logo on it. That would seem like a downer to me.

As for the 4X4 insignia, my Liberty Limited, 27G package, with Select Track has it on the left side of the swing gate. I've seen some photos of a Limited with the 4X4 insignia on the right rear panel, but I'm wondering if maybe the Jeep PR folks PaintShop'd it to get the insignia to show? Does anyone actually have a Liberty with the 4X4 insignia somewhere other than the swing gate?

Just go to the parts department and order additional logos - they just stick on.

I plan on putting them on the bottom of the fenders.
