4WD indicator light malfunction
This past weekend I used my 4WD in snowy conditions. I used both 4-HI and 4-LOW depending on what condition I was driving in. After being stuck momentarily and switching between 4-Low and 4-HI I began reciving the following indication.
In 4HI - the indicator "PART-TIME" which is normally displayed is NOT. In 2HI - the indicator "PART-TIME" IS displayed when normally it is NOT. Before returning to the paved/cleared roads I made sure that I was not in 4WD despite the indication on the instrument panel. Any ideas why this happened and how to correct it? Thanks.

my guess is u were switching around too much between 4lo 4hi and 2hi,
if it hasn't corrected itself by now- take it to the dealer but i would have shut the car off - put it back in 2hi until it read the right way- unless u were in really heavy snow traveling like under 15mph i woulnd't use 4lo- just my opinion but i don't use 4lo unless i'm trying to get thru my driveway after it was plowed 4lo really revs up the engine alot- i've found it easier to leave it in 4hi for better maneverability and shift the trans to 2nd gear or low gear in the Auto Trans can't wait to get some snow it PA, praying for a few blizzards and at least more than a foot of snow total this winter last year we got jipped - it was flurrying last week but thats nothing don't know if my suggestions were all right- but i felt bad no one answered your post

I think my owners manual says not to go over 15mph in 4LO. I don't imagine that if you stuck you would be doing that though.

you should never need 4 wheel low in snow. it is for mantaining a steady crawl with the engine rpms up where the power is... IE on a tight trail with some hard opsticles on it. I hardly ever even put any of my vehicles in 4wd even in the snow...
