2008 Liberty check engine light

Hi, We have only had this new 2008 Liberty Limited since March 31. Last week, while my wife was driving home from work in the rain, the check engine light came on. Checked the gas cap to make sure it was on tight, and it was. The light was still on the next morning driving to work, and again that evening driving home. Checked under the hood to see if anything looked out of place, but everything looked ok. The next time the engine was started after checking under the hood the light was out. The entire time that the light was on the engine sounded and performed fine.

Took it to the dealer for the first oil change last Friday and asked them to check the computer for any fault codes, and they said that there was an "old code" for a fault in the PCV valve circuit, and they cleared the code from the memory.

My wife was driving home this evening, again in the rain, and the light came on again. Has anyone seen anything similar? I have made an appointment to have the dealer check it again later this week, but I was hoping that someone might have experienced a similar pronlem and know what the real fix is.

Same problem on my Ford pickup. The '08 Liberty ok and never occurred on the '03 Liberty.
Generally when it's cool and rainy the check engine light comes on. Maybe after a day, a week, a month it goes off. Had it checked and nothing wrong, even when the light is on. Even changed out the sensors once.
