2006 Liberty Diesel - might sell it now

Iím out of touch these days, but is there a good demand for a í06 Liberty Diesel 4x4 trail rated? We have one in very good shape and itís been really reliable, but thinking about moving on. I was hoping that the limited run of the diesel would have a strong demand for it one day.

price depends on the miles.

i am assuming at that price it's low miles.


and yes, the CRD motors are always in demand. you should have no problems selling it. esp in texas.


matter of fact i would list it here on these forums in the classified section

Miles are low for a Diesel 108,000 - Dark blue - trail rated 4x4 (used on road 99%)- sun roof - all stock - never ever wrecked.

We're not hard-up to sell - it's been a little tank that gets us from A to B every time w/o issues. I might do a formal post on this forum with details. I'd like for a jeep enthusiast to be the 2nd owner. Not many of these little jewels available.

If the right buyer comes, we'll sell. (we don't want to undergo payments again for a new one, so that's making this a soft sell at this time)

Has the timing belt been changed on your CRD? This is typically a $1000 bill for most owners and may impact your desired price. Good Luck!

That's new to me - timing belt needs replacement @ 100k miles? Don't see a call for that in the user manual- is this in the shop manual? I only see the fan belt and coolant @ 100k.

Anyway, we'll get r' done or adjust the price as needed.

He didn't say it had to be changed at 100k miles, just that it will cost 1,000 bucks to fix, if it hasn't been fixed already.

Actually .... the timing belt should (read needs) be changed at 100K along with the other needed parts. These are interference engines - to grenade a 7 to 8K motor for the lack of belt maintenance would be a crying shame.

Here is a list of most parts needed - though a couple of years old. Best to check the discount mopar parts online sites to compare prices.

If nothing is seeping or leaking I would sell it as is and let someone else do that. You will lose money if you do all that preventative maintenance yourself just to sell it. That does not make any sense.

Good luck at that price and miles, they are going for less then that retail, let alone private party. But you never know, there is one born every minute.

Just got $13,500 TRADE IN for mine in May. Had 101,000 on the clock, but timing belt WAS done and mine had every available option ($31,500 when new).

Every other place I went to wanted to offer me $8,000 to $9,500 trade in for it. I laughed and walked out. Finally found an actual Chrysler dealership that knew what I had and how special it was and made a deal.

LOVED the CRD engine and miss it every day. But the rest of the Jeep I'm not missing so much because the Wrangler Unlimited is so much roomier and truck-like. Reason for selling was because with 101K on the clock, zero warranty, and 48 payments to go....a catastrophic engine problem would have wiped me out financially with that diesel. Every part on that motor was 4x more expensive than a comparable gas engine part. Couldn't take that chance.
