2005 Liberty - Disabling auto door locks

A question - Is there anyway to disable the automatic door lock feature. For me, this is a real inconvenience with kids in the back seat - as the passenger doors remained locked when you come to a stop and wish to exit. Thanks for any insight. I see nothing in the manual on this topic.

Further comment.

Further - does anyone know if the dealers can disable the power lock feature?

If you have the EVIC, thats the overhead console, press menu button to get to the menu to program door lock function.

If you do not have it, I cant help you but some you will chime in in a few days.

Yes, the dealer can disable the door locks- it takes about 30 seconds on their computer. I had them disabled on my '02 model for the same reasons.
