2003 Liberty V6, 3.7
Ok, we started this morning trying to change the cam sensor. didn't know the exact location.
By mistake, he attempted to remove what we now know was the crankshaft positioning sensor, located underneath near the oil pan. Manual said to disconnect it and twist it out.
It BROKE off.
Meanwhile we located the cam sensor and it is now changed.
Problem is that the crankshaft sensor is broke off inside. We've tried drilling a screw into it to pull it out, but it wont budge.
Then we drilled two holes down either side to attach needle nose, still could not make it come out.
Looks like we have to go to plan D. We are thinking that if we drop the oil pan we might be able to tap it out from the other side.
Does anyone know if this will work, or what me might want to do instead?
Will the oil pan even clear the axle in order to get to the sensor?
Any help from anyone that knows anything about this would be very helpful.
