2002 liberty

My 2002 Liberty makes an unusually loud, sort of whining sound on cold mornings when starting. Sounds like perhaps the power steering but had it checked and it's okay. What could it be? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Mine does that once in a while. I’ve heard its signs of a power steering pump starting to go out. I say non-sense. Try changing the PS fluid; it’s just a DC thing.
