2002 Liberty 245-75-16 (Fit???)

Is there anyone out there with a 2002 STOCK liberty that has personally tried to fit 245-75-16 tires WITHOUT lifting? I have heard some people say yes and some say no. I have also heard that the 2002 sits 1" higher than the later models, which may explain the confusion.

My concerns are rubbing when the shocks are compressed and wheels are turned. A slight rub doesn't bother me, as long as it's only during off roading. Thanks for the help!

I have an '02 with 245/75/16 BF Goodrich AT tires, they do rub some on tight turns but I do not find it objectionable. I put them on at 4000 miles and now have 20,000 miles on it. My '02 is the before they lowered them model.

I think some later '02's were lowered so you do need to check on when yours was made. You might want to check out this thread http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f28/pre-lowered-what-does-all-mean-98915/?highlight=lowered+liberty

Mine was built in 10-01, which means it is pre-lowered. (Good news for me) Anybody else have a pre lowered liberty with 245-75-16's? How do yours fit?

hope this helps

You are going to have serious run with 245 75 16s without a lift... I would recommend not doing that for dang sure. later...Clint

I'm lifted about 2.5" w/ armor and even with some small triming I still rub a little.
