06 & 07 Liberty trans fluid check

Our 06 Liberty has a auto trans dip stick for checking the trans fluid.
Our 07 Liberty has the tube but has a plug in it that says for Service at Jeep dealer.

Just use the dip stick tube from the 06 to check the fluid ?
Should be the same yes/no ?

No. Chrysler in all their wisdom are going to a temp/measurement system. You need a special dipstick. You take the temp of the tranny fluid and correlate it to a height on the dipstick then you download a chart and see if you fall in the acceptable range.
