04 Liberty Drivers Window Problems

Greetings. On a O4 Liberty when I push the drivers front windows switch down the window does not stop at the bottom and I can hear the motor against the cable making a bad noise.

I have replaced the plastic window bracket with one of the metal ones thinking that was the problem, but no go.

Sometimes the excess cable that should be feeding through the motor comes up next to the window.

So how does the windows shut off automatically knowing it is at the bottom?

Thanks folks.

Paul

Okay, I think I have this figured out. The plastic main tube has broken about 6 inches out from the guide rail. Having never seen one before, I though this was normal. This would allow the spiral cable to escape out and push up next to the window where I could see it. Now the interesting question. Do I need to replace the whole friggin assembly or is there a place to purchase just the plastic tube? Or does anyone have any ideas about fixing it without having to purchase a whole new assembly?

I tried to hold it together while I activated the power to it while it was out of the window frame, and it seems as if there is alot of pressure, so my idea of using the infamous duct tape to hold it together quickly faded. Any ideas would be appreciated.
