03' KJ with AC issue

Hi all, bought my coworkers 03' yesterday and the A/C isn't working, blows hot.
I looked around in the stickys to see if a common issue and how to troubleshoot.

I seem to recall on a forum some time back when I first started contemplating purchasing the KJ a common failure with the AC clutch? I noticed it's blowing hot even when it should be passing the outside ambient air. A member on the KJ board mentioned a stuck door?

New to Jeeps/MOPARS any advice is welcomed.

First check if the AC clutch does engage when you turn ON the AC.
You should hear it click and the center of the compressor turns...this means it is engaging.

If not then there is a good chance that you are low on refrigerant and the "low refrigerant sensor is preventing the clutch from engaging.

Best to take it to an AC shop to have them top it up and to look for leaks.

If the AC is working then there is a problem with the Blend Door Assembly which is a sort of flap that diverts either hot or cold air into the cabin....these can cause problems.

You can download the 2003 KJ Service Manual here which will give you the theory of operation on the cooling system and the Blend Door operation: http://www.colorado4wheel.com/manuals/Jeep/KJ

I did the manual blend door calibration (3 times), I cannot confirm my previous findings with certainty, but the A/C works, but in reverse (temp set to HOT) which I've seen mentioned in some of the threads I've came across.

I'll need to dig further but I'm happy I at least have air for now!

I believe the air flow doors work on vacuum, could the hoses be swapped or crossed?

I thought it was the blend door actuator, which is electrical. My guess is it's broken or stuck?
I tried the calibration a few times, do not detect a difference.

The air isn't ice cold, but cool enough for the late summer days, albeit in the HOT position.
I'll take a stab at this in the early spring after I get the suspension updated.
