02 KJ, aftermarket hitch install Q's

I'm installing a Curt hitch on my 02 KJ sport. Does anyone know the size of the bolts that go into the nutserts in the frame chanel? The size I'm getting is 12mm-1.75

I just want to double check before I send a tap up there to clean out the threads.

Yep M12x1.75,make sure to use only grade 10.9 bolts that are 40mm-45mm in length.

The ones curt sent are 8.8 is that better or worse? The tap has done an excellent job on the nutserts so far, but the last one is tricky as the tap is too long to fit between the exhaust pipe and the frame chanel, any suggestions?

Unless the hitch is just for looks I'd be buying grade 10.9's.For that one hole have someone grab the tail pipe and pull it towards the right side of the KJ to make room.

Thanks for the tip TJ. I ended up using a 2x2 to offset the exhaust pipe enough to run the last tap.
