Losing the pump prime.

I've been a problem with starting my Jeep after it's been sitting. It will start but after the diesel that's in the line is used up the engine dies and I have to prime it with the pump on the filter mount. After that it runs fine for the rest of the day. Anyone else have that problem?

I don't see any diesel leaks at any of the joints and fittings and the filter seems to be screwed on tight ( had that replaced 15,000 miles ago - has 85,000)
