Jeep Information

Transmission:5 speed

Axle Gear Ratio:3:07

Future Modifications:Instrument cluster with tach

I'd like to change the instrument cluster from the basic fuel/speedometer to a tach/speedometer/guages cluster. I've found these upgraded clusters on EBay and the connectors look the same.
Is this possible? Do I need any sending units? Oil? Temperature? to work with the new cluster? Does the computer need to be reprogrammed?

Are there any problems with doing this? Airbag lights etc?

First of all, you should always give vehicle specs when asking a question so we can have a frame of reference. I assume you have an xj, but what year and motor? Quick internet search said 97+ xj with 4.0 is plug-n-play. That means if you take the old one out and put the new one in it'll read fine. All the sensors are the same. Only difference will be the odometer. I believe 96 and older is a bit more complicated, but again, a quick internet search will let you know all you need. Hope this helps, good luck.
