My 98 jeep cherokee has a problem starting sometimes. It will not turn over or anything. If you bump the shifter lever it will turn over and start. Usually happens after a short drive of a few miles or less. Problem is getting more and more frequent. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.

Could be starter, but I would start with making sure all electrical connections are clean and tight, from the battery to the starter including all the grounds
