My old 96 XJ I named "Wobbles" because it developed a serious case of death wobble right before Thanksgiving that year, and the South Park episode with Timmy and Gobbles was on when I got home... "WOBBLES!!" kinda stuck after that.
My 96 ZJ had/has a decal of a diaper-clad Stewie Griffin on the back window when we bought it a few years back, so that one is obvious -- Stewie. Still have it. My 97 ZJ I bought from a guy named - seriously - Bobbie Bouchey. So it was named after Bobbie's gf, Vicki. Still have that one, too. Our old Taurus had many names - Taurtise, a bunch of 'em that aren't repeatable, but the one that was most commonly used during the 8 years that we had it was "Lucy." Once when it was a lake-effect white-out, on the way home, my wife was driving our then 12-yr-old daughter and they were scared. I have to admit it was one terrible snow squall, accompanied by wind gusts over 60 mph. Just when my wife was about to pull over, she realized that she had no idea where "over" was - absolute zero visibility, so she kept going. My daughter spontaneously shouted, "C'mon, Lucy, you can do it!!!" Well, that broke the tension and although it took them another 20 minutes to travel the remaining 4 miles, they made it home. And Lucy got 'em there. Lots of names for lots of Jeeps over the years... a 79 J10 was "Ol' Blue," my 86 MJ, charcoal grey, was Smokey; I named all of them but the rest of their names escape me just now.

Frozen Assets
The Jeep got the name "Frozen Assets" many years ago because I realized I could be a rich man if my assets weren't all frozen in that Jeep account. The story got better, however, when my wife got me a personalized plate for Father's Day one year. I only got to use 7 letters, and somehow the state of MN approved FRZNASS. Since the thermometer this morning (January 4) was reading -11 degrees F, you can imagine how cold the seats in that old CJ are...and just how FRZN the *** gets!

![]() Wild Hare is the name of the current rig. My wife named it as we were driving halfway across the country to pick it up after I bought it off ebay in nearly stock form after some guy walked in my office and offered me a very good price for my then rig that was named "Woundtight" which is another story all together. |

My wife told me that I DIDN'T NEED a Jeep.
So my Jeep's name is Verboten, which is German for Forbidden. Ken

My Wife wasn't real happy when I purchased the Little Jeep. However, I took her out on the trails with a group that I knew would have other women, it was a top down, doors off kind of a day and we were out for fun, not really hard wheel-n and that was all it took to win her over. |

My TJ is named Axl Sore. 1. Tribute to Axl Rose of Guns-n-Roses 2. Sore after a day of wheeling 3. (will keep G-rated) however move the letters around in either Axl Rose or Axl Sore *hint oral |
