Other than the engagement handle, the RR looks identical to my XRC. I agree with the previous poster, I think they're the same. I don't think it pulls any harder or better than the XRC, it's just being advertised at a higher rate. 5.5hp motor with the same 172:1 gear ratio on both means they're going to pull the same.

I'll have to check, but I think my XRC has stainless hardware on it as well.

I would go with the one you can get for the better price, as they look to be the same thing.

Most smitty I have seen around have some rust on the rollers. I have never looked real close to see if their is rust other places.

01 TJ, 34 Super Swaper 34x10.5 bias, Winch, locked, belly up, some armor, 4.0, 5spd

yea they prob r the same that y i dont see y i shouldnt go witht the one that advertises more pull and stainless hardware..

Basically your getting a XRC8, for cheaper, go for it. My XRC has been flawless.

I run the XRC8 and it's a pretty good winch but it definitely ain't a Warn. Get it if you don't winch a whole lot.

Smitty has a terrible reputation for rust. If rust is a factor in your area then stay away.

get the rugged ridge. i have it and like it, and the rugged ridge can pull 500 more pounds!

on a side note, the little clips that hold the rollers on the fair-lead are starting to rust
