yep i will take some more pics for u i cant take anymore cowl pics because i realy down want to open it again now. beacsue i applyed some selicone to the pass. side where the cowl meets the tub in the crack so no water can get in there. i goy the cap off a military hummer. i will post the pics of the air cleaner box from a 92 buick and i kept my stock ac/heater intake just had to make some cuts in it with the dremal tool to route the 3 inch flexable tube up to the cap thru the cowl.

i was re-directed here by another user. i am going to use this as a concept for my intake. i am going to try to do an external canister air cleaner like the newer hmmwv' have. but this is a great place to start. awesome job. and great writeup.

question, was there room under the wiper motor to put the hummer intake on the drivers side? just trying to think of other possibilities...I am probably going to make my own "hummer intake" with a piece of PVC pipe cap and smaller PVC, but just trying to get my thoughts straight!...your hummer CAI looks "friggin' sweet" in the words of Peter Griffin, President of Petoria!

i cant remb. but i dont think i had the room to put it on the drivers side the only proble with it on the pass side is that i had to cut the air deflector intake and when i have a good rain storm water comes in lands on the floor mat in the cabin

There is a write-up for this style intake in the YJ section. IIRC the cap was on the drivers side just like the factory air box.

me too!!! I think the hose run through the cowl and towards the pass. side like done above without the hummer cap would keep rain from getting in too
