wipers dont work. water involved. please read

so i dropped a cigarette down my steering column and it fell inside the dash. was driving on highway so i put some couple pours of water down there to put the butt out quickly then when i could pull over i unscrewed it an got the butt out. well few hours later my wipers dont work a d i almost died driving home on highway in rain. any tips on where i can start looking. like maybe which wire is the wiper ?

What year, make, model, is your rig?
Btw how did you manage yo drop the cigarette down the column?

yes id love to stop but moments like this make it impossible. well theres the little gap under the rubber, for the tilt steer. hit a little bump when butt was dangling in my fingers. dropped right down. its a 2003 tj

ahh after rippin dash apart to get to the wires found i just wiggled my connection loose when drying it off . still workin!
