Winch - Roller Fairlead vs. Hawse Fairlead

So I hear from just about every offroader that if you get a winch to make sure you get a roller fairlead. So I'm just wondering what makes the roller fairlead better than the hawse fairlead? I mean what is so bad about getting a hawse fairlead?

Just curious because I'm gonna getting a winch soon.

A metal line will eventually score the hawse because it doesn't roll - just rubs. Hawse is ok for synthetic line, I believe.

X2 - If you have a cable line use a roller fairlead. I wouldn't recommend using a roller fairlead for a synthetic rope line, although you could.
