Winch Plate Question HELP ASAP

Im going to order a winch plate for my jeep this afternoon. I have an 04 tj with a stock bumper and a smittybilt xrc8 winch with a 4.5x10 bolt pattern. What winch plate should I get? I dont want to spend more than $75. I also have a roller fairlead and Ive noticed some of the winch plates dont have a place on the front to mount them? Or am I crazy?

I would caution you against getting a "cheap" winch plate. You are talking about something that you are going to depend on supporting the weight of your Jeep and whatever mess you're in. If you only want to spend $75, then I would say look for a used, quality plate. Otherwise, man up and spend the cash on something that will work....Warn makes the best one in my opinion.

Smittybilt makes winch plates, though i don't know about the quality of them. $69.99 on Quadratec for the flat plate for stock bumpers

Get a raised winch plate. I bought a flat RC winch plate years ago, which worked fine with the stock bumper. But, when I bought a different bumper, the the front winch mounting bolt heads came in contact with the bumper, not allowing it to seat correctly. I ended up having to drill two large holes in my bumper for the bolt heads to fit down into. If it was not a cheap Smitty bumper, I might of had problems drilling through it.

Just a suggestion. I know Warns plate has a slight raise to it. There are others out there too.

Smitty winch, RC flat plate

Warn on same plate
