What's your budget? If you have the $$$, you can't beat a Warn winch.

Getting Savvy...

When you have a choice, buy American.

Warn M8000 is a good, standard winch for the $. Or take a look at their VR line.

Made in China will most likely last about as long as the amount of Money you paid for it and then try to find parts! WARN..... Stands by their product.

I had the mile marker once. It was a good winch and never had any problems. With that being said I think we send enough money to china so my next will probably be a warn weather new or used.

Sent from my iPhone 4 (but you can't tell it's not a 4s) using jeep forum.

I couldn't afford a Warn, so I bought a Tabor. It is built by Warn but doesn't have the same warranty as the M9000. I dont think Warn is doing that anymore though.

I just bought a Badlands 12,000lb (Harbor Freight) winch for $250

A guy around here "just so happens" to have 5 or 6 new, in-the-box...selling for cheap so I jumped all over it.

I agree with most the guys above. Go Warn or Go Home. I ran an off-brand winch for several years. It failed me 6 times when I ABSOLUTELY needed it (After being repaired each time). I'm done with that. The M8000 is your best bet for least expensive Warn winch. They can be had for under $680.

Keep in mind that..... Anything made in China that has more than one moving part isn't worth the trouble nor the expense. Go-WARN!

Yep! You'll be wishing you had spent that $300-$500 extra on a Warn when that Chinese winch breaks when you desperately need it

I can't think of any self respecting Fire Department Rescue Squad every leaving the Barn knowing that they are relying on a Harbor Freight Mounted up front...

Hah, so very true. We all had Warn and Mile Marker on our Rescue & Brush Trucks
