warn winch find

So I came across this older Warn winch at work the other day. It has been attached to a flat bed trailer for the last 7 years or so. The only thing I can find to identify it are the #'s 26266. Pretty sure I can pick it up cheap but not sure if it would be worth the time or money to restore an older winch like this or just buy a new one for my 2000 tj? It was last used a year or so ago and has been sitting since. Thoughts? Waste of time or worth the effort?

Email Warn, they may be able to give you a better idea. A pic posted here would help as well. Try looking for the capacity rating somewhere to see if its worth messing with. No telling what it was used for on the flat bed trailer but it may not have a lot of use on it so it may be in good shape. Whats the cable look like? If its knotted up and nasty looking I would say its prolly had a hard life and depending on how much they want for it allow for parts to make it right if needed. I have seen some massive Warn winches on rollbacks and wreckers that would be nice but you would prolly need helper springs to tote the extra weight.

Post up a pic and someone may know.

x2 on sending Warn some information; I've sent them serial numbers in the past and they will give advice as to whether the price being asked is good or not. They're always very helpful.

I shot the number up to Customer Service. They said 26626 is likely on the motor (is that right?). It was a motor used on several winches, but mostly on 9,000 and 12,0000 lb. capacity units. Is there any info on the gear train side of the winch?
