Thinking about buying my first Jeep

Decided I need a daily driver that is dependable unlike my Starion. The only Jeep I'd want is a late XJ, with a 4.0 and 4x4. What problems should I be looking for when I look around, and what are common problems? Thanks.

Rust. If you can find one with a Chrysler 8.25 rear end that would be preferable, but for a daily driver that isn't going to be used Offroad or beaten on the Dana 35 would be just fine. Those are the two biggest issues I've seen on them myself, but that's just through several of my friends who have them. The floors are fairly easy to replace with some scrap metal. Engines and transmissions are bulletproof, unless the engine has been overheated. Good luck!

The fact that the newest one a 2001 is 13 years old.
Be sure the A/C works as its expensive to fix.
