taping question

I have a 1989 sahara that I am getting ready to paint. I would like to retain original decals and striping . any help would be appreciated. Thanks Tuffy

I think he is asking can he tape of the decals, you can but then you will have a paint edge and that leads to peeling ,I have seen people tape off a decal ,paint and then untape it and then clear coat the entire area, its just not the right way to do it ,if you want to top notch job buy new decals

I would like to keep everything original. If this is not advisable, where can I purchase new Sahara decals?

The dealer sells decals.. but beware. My brother checked on a new Rocky Mountain sticker for his RME jeep and they wanted $60!
