I bought a brand new T-max that was a display from the SEMA offroad show in Indy for $300....I cant remember the exact model # but its a 10K Lb. winch. The guy working the booth didn't want to have to pack up and ship his winches back so me and 2 of my buddies bought 3 winches off of him for $800

I came close to getting a T-max a while back. I searched and searched and couldn't find any complaints with them. I didn't buy one because after the first series of T-Max winches sold out it looked like a lot of people stopped carrying them so I wasn't sure what customer service would be like if I needed it. I'd say they're still sort of unproven but I've heard a lot praise about them and you got a good deal so you should be pleased

rab,

The 10,000 winch, was it the newer integrated design (like the 9.5ti) or was the solenoid separate? My wife nixed the idea of a winch right now, but with their integrated (Outback) series coming out, it may work out well for me in a few months!

Keep moving forward. But keep an eye on history, for if you don't, you are doomed to repeat it.

I bought a Tmax and installed it, made sure I had power in etc, plugged in the remote and nothing happened. I double and triple checked everthing, still nothing. I opened the external power box and POOF up in smoke . I wound up sending that POS back. I did get a good deal on it, I thought the remote was extremely cheesy and I still think that was the problem. I have spoke to a few vendors who either didnt have anything really great to say or just quit selling them b/c of problems. It might be b/c they are new so they are still working out the bugs, but I wouldnt buy one, Id pay a little more and get a Ramsey or a Warn.

^ ^ sounds like a bad wiring job.....

i have used mine over 20 times in the 10 months that i have owned my tmax E9500...totally submerged and muddy, dry, in the pouring rain-you name it, i have winched in it....you name it, i have winched IT out....u-haul truck, full sized chevy, jeeps, fords, hondas, mitsubishis....i am a regular recovery guy....just out to offer help...

i bought my t max from e winches, and paid 599.00 with a winch plate.....not too bad....i hardly think that is expensive....

i would recommend this and any tmax to anyone who cant afford to drop $800-$900 on warn....

Just bought a EW-9500 today, $500 even through a local contact. It does look pretty beefy, won't know for sure until I hook it up
