I do .No matter what car I'm driving if the trip is out of town I carry a spare key .
Also no one has mentioned it but bug juice is a must have in your kit . Also a good first aid kit .

believe first aid kit was on my original list. as for bug juice. get a smoky fire going....they are repelled by the smell of smoke

The reason the Judge is banned is because Taurus would give the Dept of Justice one to test so they could put it on there safe gun list, which in the end will be away to ban all firearms in CA. So that's why it is banned it has nothing to do with the ammo it shoots. Just your dept of justice, or my new name Dept of Jack A**.

Don't forget Your pillow that sucks when you forget your pillow when camping. Also you might want to pick up a zippo I find them good for lighting fires.

I'm interested to see how you all pack this stuff in your jeep. I go back packing alot, and normally I just toss my pack in the back with my German Shepherd. It would be great if I could keep all this stuff in my Jeep though, but just thinking about it I don't imagine theres enough room for it all to be neatly tucked away.

I'm surprised this thread hasn't been visited in a month.

How about a revive.

One thing not mentioned was some disinfecting wipes. Swamp a** always kills a fun camping trip.

I carry one of the LED Headlamp setups in my Jeep. Easier to use when working at night then holding a flashlight.

Also, carry a 5 Qt Collapsible Canteen and Flotation Bladder (Vietnam era style). Doubles as a canteen and can be used as a pillow.

Just keeping this thread going...

What about the Henry AR-7 survival rifle? Now I realize it's a .22, but I always thought it would be handy for heading off the beaten trail.

Also, and more legitimately, I noticed fishinjeeper mentioned a survival guide. I have been looking for a solid guide for some time, but don't know which one to put stock in. Any favorites? Books and/or authors?

I had an ar-7. Don't buy one. The stock is made of plastic, and when you take the barrel and mag out it loses all structural integrity. I was out back packing one day and had it rigged to the side of my pack. I leaned against the tree, and cracked the stock so bad it was useless. I sold the action and barrel for 20 bucks.

If you want a pack get a Marlin Papoose, I have one and it's a great little rifle.
Look into it.
