Spring and shock mounts for D44

Hey guys just got a D44 outta a xj for 200 bucks, i think i did well. Im looking to swap this into my wrangler. Basically im looking for a good write up on how to install it, or atleast if you guys could tell me a good place to order new spring perches and shock mounts. So if anyone could help, also i know this sounds crazy but has anyone found a place that has smoking deals on ARB lockers?
Alright well take it easy,

Tyler

Or for traction aids should i go El Cheapo and just put a detroit in outback and a truetrac up front? That would save me so much money. My only fear is the locker outback in the snow and ice, anyone in the northern climates who can tell me how their wrangler handles the snow with a locker?

buy some 2x4 and 2x2 tube and make your own perches and shock mounts. if you take your time you can do it with just a 4.5 angle grinder with some cut off and grinding wheels.

a detroit is El cheapo? whats expensive then?

A rear locker on anything slippery is really an adventure to drive. the back end is always trying to come around to the front end. Scary at times but always a thrill.

tire tread patterns can help a lot with squirrely rears from lockers. horizontal tread patterns allow no resistance for the tire to slide sideways while a tire with a vertical bar or tread pattern helps to keep the tire from sliding sideways.

So because I drive this Jeep during the winters in Maine, a locker might not be the hot setup during the 5 months of snowfall. Should i invest in a selectable locker, ARBs front and rear, holy crap expensive, ox front and rear, or go with Truetrac limited slip front and rear. I mean i dont mind the ARBs i got a buddy who has um on his TJ and he said he cost him 4 grand to get installed. He doesnt know much about jeeps and i think he got robbed. Anyone in the northern climates have a good solution?

Con-Ferr sells spring perches ready to weld on, very good quality and inexpensive.

I suggest you re-think the lockers unless you are specificly going to be rock crawling. Good aftermarket gear-type limited slip differential units will be better in snow and mud than lockers. Auburn and Detroit both make good LSDs.
