Yeah it has been out for a few weeks now. My buddy almost got one then decided against it as he wanted his OBA seperate from the winch. But I cant imagine it would be bad. The only thing I wonder is about the compressor. What is it? How much air does it flow? etc etc. The winch is a strong, reliable winch just like its brothern most likely.

That's a sweet low(er) priced alternative to a warn! I wish I had $750 extra bucks!

I checked the Smittybilt's advertised air volume and it's not much... its advertised 72 liter/minute only works out to just over 2.5 CFM, not much. My York compressor puts out something like 7 CFM.

When you have a choice, buy American made.

Yep and compared to the Powerplant
Air flow rating: 12 CFM @ 0 psi, 5 CFM @ 90 psi
I didn't realize the Warn kicked out that much.

My concern would be how well the thing would hold up to a few muddy dunkings and everything else a winch has to try and live through. I would feel better having an oba system tucked up out of the way somewhere. I suppose that wouldn't really be an issue if you are montly on rocks.

Don't forget too that combining a compressor with a winch gives a potential situation where if one craps out, it can take the other function with it.

When you have a choice, buy American made.

That is exactly what I think also. Remember the combination TV-VCR, or more recently the VCR-DVD. I prefer stand alone items. That way If you want to upgrade you don't have to upgrade both.

Looking for MB Shock wheel 15x8 5on4.5 3.75bs

I agree with keeping it seperate. If one goes out, you're out both while it is in for repair.
