Seat seams coming apart

Hello,

So I recently purchased a 95 YJ, Rio Grande if it makes a difference but the seams are starting to split on the back seat!! I really like the cream color interior of my car and swapping out seats is more money that I am willing to spend at the moment so I was wondering what is the best way of fixing them. I was thinking sowing them back with floss or fishing wire but is there a better material for sowing? Also is this something that a seamstress would do or is there a company that wouldn't charge an arm and a leg to sow it back because I'm not skilled in sowing and don't want a crappy job haha. Also I am looking at investing in Seat covers and all the ones I can find off amazon look crappy or are too expensive, so I was wondering what company makes the best covers for the right price!

Thanks,
Zac

Remove the seats so you can un-bend and remove the hog-rings that hold the upholstery in place. Pull the seat covers inside-out then you can sew the seams as needed, or just take them to your local small independent upholstery shop to be re-sewn. If you slide the seat covers off yourself and hand them to the upholstery shop they shouldn't charge much at all.

When you have a choice, buy American made.

I had the sa,e problem too. I bought a curved ( semi circle ) needle that upholsters use and stromg thread from a fabric store. I do not sew by the way. I sewed it together again, it looks mighty was sew Keep ther stitches small and close together.
