recovery bag

i have seen recovery bags on different off-road sites with tow straps and such in them, and was thinking of making my own. i do not do too much wheelin but want to have it incase, when i go i carry a 20,000lb lug-all and would nost likely use that, or call someone to pull me out. so my question is what would you guys put in you recovery bag(tow straps, shackles, etc...)?

thanks
josh

Don't use tow straps for recovery. Even if the rating is adequate the stretch is not, and you will likely break something. Towing with a recovery strap on the other hand will shorten its usefull lifespan by keeping it under constant stretch.

One might assume when most of you mention "tow straps" you mean "recovery straps", but considering how much more money good straps tend to cost I'm not so sure.

A good recovery kit will have both tow and recovery straps.

In a bag I have two straps, a 12' chain, gloves, shackle, and a snatch block.

Two shackles on rear bumper, ax and shovel on rear rack, highlift on rear rack, winch on front bumper.
