Permatex® Instant Gas Tank Repair

Permatex® Instant Gas Tank Repair . has anyone ever tryed this stuff out i used it to repair a pinhole on th bottom of my tank it is holding out so far but i dont know for how long

that stuff will work fine. kinda a crap shoot on how long it will work for.. just make sure you get it right quick because it sets up in like 5-8 minutes

i ran a dirtbike with permatex gas tank repair on the tank for about 5 years, and it had been there since before i got it, PO pointed it out to me. i rode the crap out of that dirtbike and never had issues with the permatex coming off.

I used it to repair a 3/4" hole in a junkyard gas tank, and it still hasnt leaked. Its been about 3 years.

Jb weld isn't as resistant to gas, the permatex stuff is designed to be gas resistant. Really the biggest idea is to get it as clean as possible. It's a chemical bond, not a weld so the cleaner the surface metal is the better bond it makes.

Also the directions say you can use it with gas dripping out, but it really should be used when the area is dry.

yes and also if u us jb weld it will hold for ABout a week and than soften up and peel off ive seeen it b4. it will do as get u home kinda thing but thats it
